One of my goals during the summer down time has been to unlock all of my class halls and get the first artifact for all of my toons. Yesterday, I finished that. My long term goal is to complete all class Order Hall Campaigns to earn the feat of strength, A Legendary Campaign.

I’m really satisfied to have gotten to this point so far. I’ve had so little time to play alts that they have all sat there neglected. I hated seeing them in the loading screen and just kinda pretending they weren’t there. So I’m very glad that I made the time during this break to get them to their class halls, and to give them their first artifact weapon.
I really enjoyed this! Some halls/weapons were easier than others. Some were very difficult, if only for the fact that they barely got touched at all during Warlords of Draenor, so their gear was tragically low (Cinderp, I’m looking at you, honey!) But I managed to fumble my way through something for each class. Once everyone had unlocked their hall and gotten their first weapon, I gave each toon a new transmog to match (it seemed only fitting!)
So without further ado – here are my quick thoughts on each hall and artifact quest line.

Death Knight – Cindecay
Ok, let’s be honest here. Death Knights really don’t have anything in the way of a new Class Order hall. And why would they? They already have Acherus, the Ebon Hold. It makes sense to tart this up a bit, bring it to the Broken Isles and go from there. Which is pretty much what happens (though I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed we didn’t get to see it being moved…)
As a Death Knight, we’re sent off to get our weapon straight away. After taking some advice from Z, I decided that Cindecay would level as Blood for awhile, so off we went to get Maw of the Dammed.
Now I’m not going to go into too much detail here, because I don’t want to spoil the whole experience for anyone. But I will say this – we do some pretty fucked up shit (in my opinion). Although I had to laugh – as soon as I landed in Dalaran I went off to get the profession starter quests and had the poop scared out of me by the damn Lich King who decided to stop by my brain for a quick chat.
I am very curious to see where the order hall quest line goes. Z tells me it’s her favourite yet, so I’m thinking it must have some juicy lore bits in it!
I did alright as Blood in the end. The quest line was mostly what you would expect for what’s happening in the world. I stupidly forgot to bring myself any food, so relied on 2 expansions-old food from my yak to keep me going. But I got there in the end, and now Cindecay is ready to take on the Legion. Once she’s done flirting with them all, of course.
Demon Hunter – Cindemonic
Who doesn’t love Demon Hunters? If nothing else, they have the killer moves that have you zipping all over the place. I love it!
Unlocking your Demon Hunter class hall is all part of the intro quest line for the class. I like the way they handled this – defeating enemies and stealing their abilities to make you stronger. It’s pretty cool. And even though the world is broken and full of demons, there’s something really beautiful about it all. Maybe I just like green…
Getting the Twinblades of the Deceiver was the hardest of all the artifact quests I’ve done so far. Mostly because I’m terrible at melee dps, and hadn’t quite got the hang of jumping out and dashing back in as damaging abilities (I keep thinking of them as just movement utility, which is only half of their purpose!) They do look really cool, though. I think my favourite part of Demon Hunters, though, is their animations. They are so engaging to watch – very immersive!
The class hall itself is pretty good. I particularly like the universe in the middle of it! And of course, everything is very green 🙂
Druid – Cinderluna
Druids have been one of those classes that I love to hate. I love it because I love everything that they stand for – being one with nature, and using nature’s abilities to do what needs to be done. They also have some of my most favourite transmogs in the game. My trouble? I’m a rubbish druid. Like, REALLY rubbish. So I find myself getting very frustrated pretty often. However, I have gotten to be on pretty ok terms with Boomkin… so of course Scythe of Elune was the weapon I went after.
The Dreamgrove is probably my favourite of all the class order halls (as if you couldn’t tell from the bajillion screenshots!!!). It is stunning. If there were fewer people there, I’d live there in a heartbeat. Everything about it is beautiful, from the lush trees to the roaring waterfalls and the little ancients that are just helping things grow. There is so much to love about it – especially all the little nooks and crannies. There are lots of little secret places to hide in or read or just sit around and soak up nature, and I love it.
Getting the Scythe of Elune was pretty cool, to be honest. Lots of flying around in the old world hunting people down. It was challenging in a good way. I died once, because I took the NPC’s directions a little too seriously… I was told to run after someone as fast as I could, and make sure they didn’t get away! So run I did.. right through loads of mobs… that did not stop hitting me. Turns out I still had to kill them all… the bad guy was still going to be there in the end. hehe
All in all, I’d say this is definitely a class hall everyone should unlock.
Hunter – Cinderp
I was a bit torn about what to do with my hunter. I have her flagged for a faction transfer because I really want a gnome hunter. But I also wanted to unlock all of these class halls… so I did that first. And now I’m not sure if I will transfer her, or if I will just level a whole new gnome hunter.
I was also torn about what artifact to go for first. Even though I don’t play a hunter seriously at all, I’ve always preferring Beastmaster Hunter because I love collecting the exotic pets. But Beastmaster Hunters have a gun as their artifact, which I’m not a fan of. And yes, there is the hidden appearance of the bow that you can change it to, however the mechanical bow really doesn’t suit what I have in mind for my hunter as she currently is (hence wanting her as a gnome)
I’ve always preferred bows on hunters, so of course it made sense to go Marksman and get Thas’dorah. I’ve never played Marksman, ever. So it was a crash course in how to play before going off for my artifact. I did alright all things considered. I forgot food for myself yet again (truth be told – I forgot food for ALL of my artifact quests!!) I think I only died twice. This poor girl has NO gear. She was made during Mists of Pandaria to get the Horde quests done for Loremaster, got levelled up in Warlords of Draenor through pet battles, and just sat there waiting for me to play her. Poor darling. No wonder she’s such a derp.
The quest line for Thas’dorah was ok. I didn’t hate it, but I guess I was a little tired of so many of the quest lines being in demon-y type places. Although it makes sense as part of this particular story line, who it involves and what has happened to them.
Anyway, once you have your weapon, it’s off to Trueshot Lodge. I know a few hunters who aren’t overly thrilled with their class hall, but I quite like it. It seemed really “huntery” to me. And I just adore Highmountain – especially at night – so it’s a real treat to be up near the top of it, looking down on the world. It’s quite a large place, which lots of places to go exploring. The lodge itself is simple and full of hunter trophies (that don’t really appeal to me!) but outside there are loads of fireplaces and little corners with trees and rocks to just sit around in quietly. I like it a lot.
Mage – Cinderlily
I levelled up my mage a little while ago. She is my only alt who is currently at max level (I needed my enchanter!) Also, she was the first toon I ever created, so I always feel bad if she’s not levelled up quickly. Because she’s at max level, she has all 3 artifact weapons.
I initially started her as Fire (for obvious reasons). I had done the quest line to get Felo’malorn on beta and back then it was HARD. It was way overtuned and I died so much all my gear broke! I’d had to port out of the scenario to repair and go back in again, only to find all my progress had been reset, so I was back at square one again. This time around though it was tuned very well. It was a little challenging, but not so much that I died. I did have big lag problems again on the “boss” fight, which is annoying when you’re playing fire and trying to make the most of procs. But I got there in the end. I really enjoyed the quest line a lot!
When I got to 102 I headed off to grab the Frost weapon next – Ebonchill. This was a great quest line! I won’t reveal any spoilers at all because it will take away from the quest itself, but I thought this was a really interesting story, and it made me very attached to the weapon. After that I headed off to get Alluneth, which is for Arcane. Again, another really awesome quest line, a lot of which took place in one of my favourite zones. I love how snarky Alluneth is. It’s also a little evil I suppose, but Cinderlily is good to the core, so she’ll keep it in check.
The mage order hall is another that I absolutely adore. And what’s not to love? It’s full of sparkly magic, and best of all – BOOKS! They are EVERYWHERE! And of course there are some Harry Potter elements to the place (which suits Cinderlily to a T!) I love that it’s in Dalaran. Of course it makes sense to be there, but it also helps us feel a little less isolated. That and I get a kick out of looking down on all the little people below 😉
Unlocking the class hall was really great, actually. It was nice seeing the place go from abandoned and unkempt to the beautiful space it becomes. There’s also some nice story to go along with it, so it doesn’t feel like you’re just going through to motions. I’m curious to see how this all pans out. At the moment I’m stuck with a vomitted undead fellow… hoping that passes soon…
Monk – Cindersong
I have 2 monks. I think it ended up this way because when I changed servers, I couldn’t afford to transfer my existing monk over, so I just went and made a new one. I have no recollection of levelling her at all (how awful is that?!) I think because of that, she has a very strong and silent persona. She doesn’t talk much, keeps to herself and just gets shit done.
I’m not huge fan of the Windwalker fist weapons, and I didn’t know how strong Mistweaver dps would be for levelling, so I ended up deciding to make her Brewmaster to start off with. Which of course involved a crash course in how to Brewmaster in Legion. I figured it out well enough to survive!
I found unlocking the Wandering Isle as a class hall pretty heartbreaking. Monks already had the Peak of Serenity as a training base of operations, but it made sense that it would not be suitable. Spoiler alert – the Legion trash it. Seeing the Legion attack on a global scale made them even more terrifying, so it worked well from a story perspective. It just made me sad – so much of Pandaria has been destroyed.
Getting the monk artifact, Fu Zan, was quite different to other quest lines. This one had us solving riddles and running (yes running!) through Pandaria to collect clues, and then fight our way to the weapon. It was quite enjoyable, and I didn’t even die! huzzah!
My favourite part about the Monk class hall, though, (other than how beautiful it is!!) is seeing Ji and Aysa together again. It choked me up. I’m glad they’re together again, and I hope they’re happy. I’m curious to see what happens with the monk quest line. I didn’t get much of an impression of other stuff that will happen – most other class halls seemed to imply future work that needed to be done. The monk one just seemed to be “well, here we are. Go train to fight the Legion.” So I’ll be curious to see how it progresses.
