Blaugust 2022 – 12 – weekend update

For those who are counting, yes, I’m behind on Blaugust posts! But thankfully the rules are quite flexible on this, and as long as I have done 31 posts in the 31 days I can call it a victory. And I’m not ready to give up just yet!

This weekend was yet another working weekend, BUT I think it should be the last one. I have one more big task to complete and then I’ll be through this bottleneck. I’m seeing the light at the end of this batch and I’m hurtling towards it as fast as I can! This weekend was cold and stormy and rainy, too, which is weather I just adore, so that put me in a good mood. 🙂

Despite working, though, I did manage to do some things for myself. I have been getting in the habit of trying to read a little in the morning on weekends. Sometimes this is a great success… other times, like this weekend, it just turned into me falling asleep in a different location. But I didn’t mind – Tilly came to keep me company and we had a little snooze together before I got my butt into gear.

Oh! On Friday I went down a bit of a crafting rabbit hole. As you would likely guess I follow a few crafting groups on facebook. Someone had posted some pictures of an amazing advent calendar tree made of 25 boxes and it looked AMAZING. They shared the link to the Etsy store where they purchased the original SVG files (SVG files can be used with cutting machines like my Cricut – they basically are a design/pattern and the machine cuts it all out for you). So I took a look at the Etsy store and well… I fell in love.

Here’s a link to the Bella Creativa Etsy store – https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/BellaCreativaDesigns

There were so many things there that I just loved. And I got to thinking about how I might be able to incorporate them into my bullet journal as well. So I bought a bunch of the files and spent quite a few hours just watching tutorial videos of how to make everything. The creator is from Australia, too, so it felt good to be able to support a fellow Aussie!

One of the files I purchased was for an expandable folder. This was something I wanted for my own storage for my own little project I have going on at the moment (that I’m really looking forward to sharing with you!!!). I wanted to get a feel for the project first, so using some scrap materials I put together a mini version as a test. I was so please with how it turned out. It’s a prototype so won’t get used for any thing, but I still think it’s a bit cute. 🙂

And really, that’s about it. The rest of my time was spent on work related things or doing a couple of chores here and there.

How was your weekend?
